The Catbalogan Search and Rescue Team (CSRU) underwent an intensive Body Conditioning Training conducted by the Philippine Coast Guard – Western Samar Chapter in preparation for the upcoming Water Search and Rescue (WASAR) Training. This rigorous program aims to develop the traineesβ physical endurance, strength, and water survival skills, ensuring they are well-prepared for the demands of rescue operations.
The training commenced with a 15-day body conditioning phase, which included a Physical Fitness Test (PFT) and Swimming Qualification Test (SQT). These assessments are designed to evaluate and enhance each trainee’s stamina, resilience, and overall fitness, ensuring they meet the physical requirements needed for the next phase of WASAR training.
This initiative plays a crucial role in strengthening disaster response capabilities, equipping trainees with essential lifesaving skills, and preparing them for real-life emergency scenarios. By undergoing this rigorous training, the CSRU team are honing their abilities to respond swiftly and effectively to rescue situations, ultimately contributing to the safety and preparedness of their community.
